The man who accompanies Rover (image 5) is quoting Ovid&#039;s Metamorphoses, Book 3: &quot;quique halitus exit/ Ore niger Stygio vitiatas inficit auras&quot; (a breath like that from the mouth of the black Styx fouls the corrupted air). I&#039;d say this is either the artist&#039;s Latin tutor, or a man with very bad breath (or perhaps both).]]></description>
