My heart cries for Jane Webb, Left, the children and grandchildren. This is so sad. Thank God some of the children and grandchildren attained freedom. As far as Savage……his name says it all….a liar and a thief.

Thank you for posting this story. Jane Webb was one of my ancestors. I am descended from her son Daniel. The epilogue to this story is that most of Jane’s children and grandchildren eventually migrated to North and South Carolina, where they finally attained freedom and became members of a small mixed-race community. Again, thanks for sharing!
