Abstract

Contains a deposition of Thomas Forster sworn before Nathaniel Harrison & Edmund Berkeley regarding a bribe offered by Edward Trafford, Commander of the Elizabeth & Anne of Liverpool, to the deponent as one of a number of prisoners on board the ship being transported to the colony of Virginia as indentures. According to the deposition, Trafford offered Forster a sum to set him free, but the deponent refused.
