Abstract

Contains a petition of Thomas Jones to [Lieutenant Governor William Gooch] asking for a patent for 1,900 acres of land in two tracts on Elk Creek originally entered by James Powell of King William County. According to the petition, James Taylor of Spotsylvania County surveyed 1,500 acres of land lying on Elk Creek, but never sued out any patent.
