Abstract

William Sherman White was born 12 January 1889 in Stafford County, Virginia. He enlisted in the United States Army 28 October 1917 and served with Company D, 511th Engineers. White was honorably discharged 18 June 1919 and he returned to Stafford County and became a farmer. He and his wife Mary Smallwood White (1904-1994) had two children. White died 29 August 1977 at McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He was buried in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Stafford County.
