Abstract

Edwin Corbitt Reid was born 2 January 1925 in Roanoke, Virginia. In 1942 he began working as a photographer for the Times World Corporation in Roanoke. Reid joined the army on 10 March 1943 and was assigned as a clerk-typist in Company H, 115th Infantry. One of his responsibilities was to assist in the reorganization of German publishing of magazines and newspapers. Honorably discharged on 21 January 1946, Reid worked as an information officer for the Virginia Department of Highways. Reid married Mary Blanche Woody (1924-2011) 16 January 1943, and they had four children. Reid died 17 January 2007 in Henrico County, Virginia, and was buried in Westhampton Memorial Park there.
