Abstract

Arthur Franklin Hudson was born 10 June 1894 in Halifax County, Virginia. He enlisted in the United States Army 21 September 1917 and served in Company B, 136th Machine Gun Battalion, 74th Infantry Brigade, 37th Division. Hudson saw combat in France including at St. Mihiel and the Meuse-Argonne. He was honorably discharged from the army 16 April 1919. Hudson returned to Halifax County where he owned a tobacco farm. He married Minnie Belle Bowen (1903-1996) 14 December 1924 and they had two children. Hudson died 13 May 1960 and was buried in North Fork Cemetery in Halifax County.
