Abstract

Robert Earl Reese was born 26 September 1922 in Halifax County, Virginia, and grew up on the family farm. During World War II, he entered the Army Air Force 9 January 1943 and became a tail gunner. Reese married Lois Marie Viar (1927-2006) 6 December 1943. He was killed when his plane was shot down over Munich, Germany, 19 July 1944. Reese was buried in St. Avold, Lorraine, France.
