Thomas E. Craddock envelope to his father, 31 May 1919




Thomas Easley Craddock was born in Houston, Halifax County, Virginia on 2 February 1889. He was the son of Abram Poindexter Craddock and Rosa Lee Edmondson. Craddock attended Cluster Springs Academy, and then was employed by the Craddock-Terry Shoe Company. He served in World War I as a hospital orderly with an ambulance corps in France. Following the war, he was employed by the Central Shoe Company of St. Louis. Craddock married Rubie Paxton Tyree (1907-1985) on 15 June 1930. He died at Keeley Institute in Greensboro, North Carolina on 23 March 1937, and is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery in Lynchburg.
