Abstract
William Jennings Bryan Baxter was born 27 December 1897 in Loudoun County, Virginia. In 1918, he was working in Dysart, Saskatchewan, Canada, and he returned to Loudoun County to enlist in the United States Army. Baxter served in the Medical Corps during the war at Field Hospital 51 in Toul, France. Discharged from the army on 11 June 1919, Baxter returned to Clarke County, Virginia, where he farmed and worked as an estate manager for several farms in the area. He married Naomi Bessie Fowler (1905-1992) 15 November 1920 and they had three children. Baxter died 28 October 1973 in Clarke County and was bured in Green Hill Cemetery.
