(1) MILES 3 BURCHER, son of Lewis 2 Burcher (William1) and his wife Susa Burcher, was born November 11, 1835. He married Mary (Mollie) E. Charles, daughter of William H. Charles and Ann Lindsay Charles. She was born December 6, 1834 (tombstone)He owned a 25 acre farm in the Dare, York County area but sold this in 1860 to Kemp Charles. They later lived near the other Burchers in Warwick County but their homesite was situated in York County on Oriana Road. The deed describes it as "bounded on the east by Chidley Wade". That would have been the Pescud-McWilliams farm, later known as "Wade's Farm". On the south and west were main roads. (These would be Oriana and Brick Church Roads). On the north a son Charles L. Burcher had his 75 acre farm and Miles Burcher and this son, Charles Burcher bought the land from Bartlett and Tabb, trustees and had it partitioned in equal portions. (York Deed Book No. 22 p. 554) Later Miles Burcher held another piece of land across the road and it was there that he later resided. Afterwards another son, Edward Burcher took up residence there until, late in his life, he sold out and moved to the Grafton village. Today the house is still occupied.
