believes he will not obtain that impartial justice which is his right as your orator well knows; that the prejudices cited against him & his cause are not yet lulled asleep and will be arranged against him with additional force whenever a reexamination is had. Your orator is persuaded that the prejudices of which he speaks not only exist in the said County of Montgomery but that it has been disseminated into the adjoining counties owing to the unwearied industry of his enemies who under the pretense of patronizing the cause of Freedom gratify their interested motives and satiate their desire of Vengeance. Thus a new Trial if had within this infected circle will be a mere mockery and will not effect the ends of Justice. In Tender Consideration whereof & in as much as your orator can not be extricated from the difficulty under which he labours
