Sixthly, If either the said Robert S. Coleman or Nathaniel Jellanson should refuse to comply with these conditions then the part of the estate so devised to the party refusing shall go to my mother in fee simple
Seventhly, If Lucy Henry Sandsonia Cobbs should not live to take this legacy of fifteen hundred dollars then I give and bequeath it to the oldest living child of Edmund Cobbs by his present wife Elizabeth
Eighthly, If upon a final determination of all suits relative to the division of my fathers real estate I shall be found to be entitled to more or less interest therein than have heretofore received after the fulfilment of all contracts for sales of land made by me I desire the remainder to be divided in the same manner that I have directed the division of my real estate in possession
Ninthly, With respect to my slaves my desire is that Daniel and Ned may remain the property of my wife for four years if she should so long continue my widow if she should marry in that time then for the remainder of the four years the property of my mother after that time they are to have the choice of remaining the property of my mother or of being free and emancipated
Tenthly, I give and bequeath to my wife and her heirs her maid Virginia
Eleventh, To my slave John I allow the privildge of selecting his own master or mistress among my brothers or sisters if any of them will maintain him for his services if none of them will maintain him then I desire that my executors may make comfortable provision for him
Twelfth, With respect to the rest of my slaves such of them as are of the age of twenty eight years and upwards I desire my remain the property of my wife until the legal title to them is vested in me or my heirs by the determination of all suits relative to the division of my fathers estate provided my wife continues my widow until that time But if my wife should marry before that time then I give them until that time to my mother & if she be alive when such marriage takes place If she be not then to Nathaniel J. Manson until such legal estate vests in me or my heirs by the determination of the suits aforesaid after which time I give them their choice of being free and emancipated or of becoming the property of any of my brothers or sisters whom they may choose
Thirteenth, With respect to those which may be under the age of twenty eight years when such legal title shall accrue to me my desire is that they may go to the same persons in the same as those disposed of in the last article with the same priviledges as they shall respectively arrive at the age of twenty eight years
Fourteenth, In all cases where I have directed my slaves to continue in service for determinate periods of time I desire that if my wife should have issue by me two thirds of them shall remain the property of each child for the same time
Fifteenth, I give and bequeath my interest in my mothers dower slaves in the same manner that I have disposed my other slaves allowing them the same privileges It is my most particular request which I beg they will not neglect that my executors see that my slaves herein disposed of are treated with kindness and humanity while they continue in servitude
Sixteenth, I give and bequeath to my mother my wife and my sister Mary T. Coleman my Gig and Gig horse for their common use
Seventeenth, I give and bequeath to my wife the choice of my bedsteads together with my bed and bed furniture my Bureau and wash stand and such other articles as she may choose not otherwise disposed of
Eighteenth, I give and bequeath to my mother the following articles viz: my sorrel cart horse my side board and secretary
