Bedford November Court 182[7?] On the complaint of Martin, Stephen, Judy, Matt, Daniel, Ned & Ben paupers & persons of colour by counsel specially assigned them by by court - It is ordered that the sheriff of this county take into his custody the puapers aforesd & have them subject to the further order of the court unless Robert L. Coleman the acting executor of Addison Davis Decd who it appears to this court holds the said paupers in slavery shall appear at the first court after he shall be served with a copy of this order, or with the clerk of this court & enter into bond with security in an amount equal to the value of said paupers to have the said paupers forthcoming to answer the Judgement of the court in a suit for their freedom
