Were you acquainted with Stephen West late of the Woodyend in Prince Georges County - and are you acquainted with Arthur P West 3. Third. were you acquainted with a Colored man called Charles Jackson & his wife Rebecca and were you acquainted with their two children Peggy and Hannah 4. Fourth. Were she the said Peggy & Hannah children of the said Charles and Rebecca always reputed to be free - did you ever know of either orphan being held or claimed as slaves by the said Stephen West or by the said Arthur P West until within the last nine years 5. Fifth. are you acquainted with Isaac Ball and John Ball and with their father - if yea did you ever hear either of them say anything as to the right of the said Charles Jackson's children to their freedom[?] if so state what you heard.
