(14) This indenture made this twenty seventh day of March in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven by and between Parsons Bradley and Mary Bradley his wife of the County of Chesterfield of the one part and William Thompson of the County of Halifax of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Parsons Bradley and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the sum of eighty pounds current money to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they doth hereby acknowledge hath granted, bargained, sold aliened cufoeffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enfoeff and confirm unto the said William Thompson his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Chesterfield containing sixty five acres be the same more or less being the plantation whereon the said Parsons Bradley and Mary his wife now lives, which is held by them the said Parsons and Mary his wife in her right of dower claiming from the estate of a former husband Godfree Ragsdale deceased and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders, right estate Interest, benefit claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Parsons and Mary his wife to the same or any part thereof. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and all and singular the premises unto him the said William Thompson his heirs and assigns forever by these presents.
