To the Honorable the General Assembly of Virginia The petition of George Wills of the County of Cumberland and State of Kentucky respectfully sheweth that in the winter of 1808 your Petitioner removed from the County of Henry and State of Virginia to Kentucky and carried with him certain negroes, natives of Virginia, to wit David, [Easter? Eastor?], Silvia, Crelia & Fanny, That he was possessed of these negroes previous to his removal: That your Petitioner is himself [a citizen?] of Virginia where he has constantly resided untill he removed to Kentucky: That being extremely anxious to return with all his family to his native State, He therefore prays your Honorable body to authorise him to bring with him, into the State of Virginia the Negroes before mentioned and in duly bound will ever pray &c [etc.].
