In the name of God amen I Ann Rains of the County of Caroline formerly Ann Pesper of the County of King William being of sound disposing mind memory and understanding, but considering the uncertiny [uncertainty] of this transitory life do by virtue of a power to me in that behalf Reserved and given by certain articles of agreement bearing date twenty fifth day of April in the year 1789 of record in the County Court of King William executed before my marriage make publish and declare this my last Will and testament in manner and form following I give to Samuel Jones Callett [Catlett] son of Jonathan Callett [Catlett] the use of the following Negroes during his life namely Will a negroe man Easter, Lavinia, Amos, Lewey, Molley, Phebe, Grace, Nancey, Patty, Barnett, Collin and Clary with their future increase together with one Horse one Mare and colt Stock of Cattle and Hogs the house hold and Kitchen furniture one bed and furniture and at the death of the said Samuel to such children as he shall leave to be equally divided amongst them and on failure of issue of the said Samuel Jones Catlett I give the said Slaves and other property so given to him to Jonathan Callett [Catlett] for his life and at the death of the said Jonathan to such children as he shall leave to be equally divided amongst them I give to Jonathan Callett [Catlett][,] William Dawles & Ann Dawles the use of the following negroes during their lives namely, Sally and her two children Wilson and Chana with there [their] future increase to be equally divided amongst them I give to Ann Dawles the use of the following articles during her life one bed & furniture one side saddle three gold rings together with the money and crops as enumerated and
