law for performing the Conditions thereby required, it became impossible for your petitioner to perform them. That your petitioner thinks it hard that he is to be injured by the negligence of the Said Henderson. That your petitioner does not pretend to Call in question the policy of the laws prohibiting the further importation of Slaves into this Commonwealth though much inconvenience and injury is felt from their operation in the Section of Country in which he resides; all that your petitioner asks is that he may have leave to hold the Said Slave in this Commonwealth by Complying with the provisions of the Said laws (Viz) by exporting a female Slave of the discription therein mentioned; and that he be allowed reasonable time to export the Said female Slave And your petitioner as in duty bound will ever pray &c [etc.].
