109 I beg leave to add that Tom was emancipated under a misapprehension growing out of inadvertence. It was supposed that the law would allow him to remain in the Commonwealth. Tom is a man of high character as the foregoing list of the first men in Lynchburg testified - and if it be possible for him to remain under the law, it will be a source of gratification to the whole community.
