In Council Augst 23d. 1776 Ordered, That Mrs. Margaret Goodrich until farther order be made therein by sd [said] Genl. [General] Assembly, or this Board be allowed as a reasonable Maintenance for herself & younger Children out of sd Esta [Estate] of her Husband Jno Goodrich the Elder a Tract of Land in Nansemond C[oun]ty Containing 150 Acres & one other Tract in sd County of Isle of Wight Containing 500 Acres together with sd Crops of Corn now growing thereon & £40 per ann. to enable her to hire Slaves to work in said Lands which annuity is to commence on sd 1st Day of Jany.
