In the name of God amen I Robert Godwin of the County of Nansemond, being in my perfect senses do make this my last will and testament in the manner following, that is to say Imprimis. I give and bequeath all my estate both real and personal of whatever nature or kind it may be except my negro man Ben, unto my dear Sister Ann Towns during her widowhood Item upon the marriage or death of my said Sister Ann Towns I give and bequeath all my real estate herein before given to her unto Jonathan Lewis and Talbot Godwin the two children of my deceased brother Talbot Godwin, and unto their heirs forever. But if either of my said nephews depart this life before he attains the age of twenty one years I give and bequeath all the estate herein before bequeathed to him unto the survivor of my said nephew, and to his heirs forever, and if both my said nephews should die before they attain the age of twenty one years, I give and bequeath all the estate herein before bequeathed to them, unto the eldest son then living of my deceased brother Joseph Godwin and to his heirs forever, But if there should be no son of my said brother Joseph Godwin living at the death of my aforesaid nephews, upon their dying before they attain twenty one, I give and bequeath all the estate herein before bequeathed to them unto the eldest son then living of my Sister Melioras Godwin and to his heirs forever. Item upon the marriage or death of my said Sister Ann Towns, I give and bequeath all the personal estate herein before bequeathed to her, unto the aforesaid John Lewis and Talbot Godwin, and their heirs forever, in the same manner that I have before bequeathed to them my real estate, that is to say, if either dies before he attains the age of twenty one, the survivor to take the whole, but if both die before they attain the age of twenty one then I give and bequeath the same unto
