To any one of the Justices of the peace for the County of Northumber'd

Humbly complaining sheweth unto your Worship your Oratrix Rachell, of the said County That your Oratrix was the property of John Barr late of the said County deceas'd in his life time according to the Laws of this Country, tho;' contrary to the law of nature That the said John Barr being conscious of the meritorious services perform'd by your Oratrix for him and he being deprived of the power of making any other recompense to your Oratrix for such services He the said John Barr did by a Codicil annex'd to and part of his last Will and Testament in writing duly made and published by him in his life time and bearing date the Thirteenth day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Six the following Declaration and Devise viz " I claim no right, title, or Interest, of, in, or by, my Negroe woman Rachell, and her child Rachell and hereby order that the same shall in no wise for ever hereafter be consider'd as part of my estate. And I do hereby give and bequeath unto my Brother Zachariah Twenty five acres of my Land, joining Jamesons, Palmer and Hursts land with as much of my estate as will build a House thereon in trust and to and for the benefit sole use and profit of the said Negroe woman Rachell and her child Rachell and their heirs for ever" as by the said last Will and Testament and Codicil duly proved and recorded in the Court of the County aforesaid which your Oratrix prays be taken as part of this here Bill of complaint may more fully appear And your Oratrix further Sheweth That the said Zachariah Barr after the Executors in the said Will named had refused to take upon themselves the Execution thereof Petitioned the Court of Northumberland County aforesaid on the Day of September last to have the Administration of the Estate of the said John Barr committed to him with the aforesaid Will and Codicil of the said John Barr annexed which the said Court on the said Zachariah Barr having first made oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that he would perform the same did commit to the said Zachariah Barr And your Oratrix farther sheweth, that after the death of the said John Barr she continued to live with the said Zachariah Barr in the House where the said John Barr had lived & died and was possessed of the [illegible] owner of the following wearing cloaths Viz't one [illegible] Callico Gown, one Callico Jacket & Petticoat one white Cotton Jacket & Petticoat, two white Linnen Petticoats, one White Linen Jacket, Three White linen handkerchiefs, one blue silk Jacket, one white linen apron, one Lawn apron, two Gown capes dress'd with Ribbons, one white linnen Shift, one Osnaburg shift, one strip'd Virginia cloth Jacket & Petticoat, one Feather Bed linen [illegible] & three Blankets, one childs frock & two shif's one pair of white cotton stockings, one pair of white yarn stockings
