Nottoway County Sct. This day Benjamin Dennis came before me a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and made oath that he was well acquainted with Bob a negro man slave the property of John Royall who was executed under the sentence of the County Court of Nottoway some time during the month of January or February last for Insurrection: that the said Bob was a strong, healthy and Robust Man, an extraordinary good foreman, and that previous to the charge for which he suffered had maintained an uncommon good character for a slave: that upon the whole he would value him to $500 - Given under my hand this 9th day of December 1802 - Richd Dennis
