To the Legislature of Virginia The petition and memorial of Edmund F. Vawter, Virginia Vawter, William Vawter, Thomas L. Vawter and George M. Vawter, respectfully represent to your honourable body, that in the year 1782 their Father William Vawter now deceased, resided in the county of Orange, that a Negroe man named Cary, the property of the said William Vawter was guilty of a felonious offense for which he was arrested, tried convicted and executed.
