as the property of William Vawter decd. within the view of this affiant & further saith not Given under my hand this 23rd Nov 1832 Abler Gaines Abler Gaines personally appeared before us Willis Calvert & Richd. White two of the justices of the peace for Boone county Ky on the 23rd of Nov 1832 and was duly sworn and subscribed the foregoing deposition given under our hands & seals this above date[.] W Calvert Rich White

State of Kentucky Boone County } Ste I John Tomblinson of the County and state aforesaid do hereby certify that in and about the year 1782 William Vawter then of Virginia Orange Count owned a negro man slave named Cary charged with the crime of committing a rape on a white woman for which crime said Cary was tried before a court of Justice for said county and found guilty of said charge for which he was hanged I then lived a [illegible] neighbour to said Vawter and was intimately acquainted with all the circumstances[.] Given under my hand and seal this 26th day of November 1832[.] John Tomblinson (seal) Boone County Sct Personally appeared before me B Watts one of the Commonwealths justices of the peace for said Ccounty the above named John Tomblinson and made oath that the above statement is true[.] Given under my hand 26th day of Nov 1832[.] B Watts (seal)
