State of Virginia Orange county October the 31 1832 I William Wayt do hereby certify that I was well acquainted with William Vawter late of the state of Kentucky that the said Vawter about the year seventeen hundred and eighty two had a negro man by the name of Cary charged with the offense of committing a rape for which offense said [negro?] man Cary was tried sentenced to be hanged and was hanged at the court house in this county given under my hand this 31 day of October 1832 William Wayt
Orange county to wit This day William Wayt came before me William Pante a justice of the peace for the county aforesaid and made oath that the facts as stated above is strictly true, certified under my hand this 31st day of October 1832 William Pante
