The Honourable the General Assembly of Va The Petition of Robt Trout (a freeman of Coular). Humbly Sheweth, that Your Petitioner Hath been in Servitude for fifty Years & upward, and hath now by Industry and Good Economy Procured his Emancipation, and by the Laws of this Commonwealth he the Said Robt will Again be Subjected to Slavery unless Speedily he Removed therefrom Your Petitioner therefore Humbly Sheweth that by his Industry he hath Acquired Some property Which he Cannot have the Benefit of unless Some indulgence Can be afforded. Your Petitioner therefore Humbly prayeth that he may have the Benefit of legislature Interferance that One Year longer may be allowed him to Make Sale of his property & Collect his dues, Without Which he Will Sustain Considerable loss & Your Petitioner as in duly bound Will ever Pray &c.
