Prince William County Sct. I John Williams Clerk of the said County Do hereby certify that at October Court in the year one thousand eight hundred & two, John Linton Deputy Sheriff and Jailer of sd. [said] County under John Brown late Sheriff presented to the Court an account in which the following charges was made, to wit, "To [illegible] Butler from the eleventh July last untill 8th June 1802. 333 days at 34 cents per day" which said charge the Court refused to allow the the said Linton being of [illegible] that the Law did not authorize them to levy and eraced [erased] the same out of the account. Given under my hand this second day of December one thousand eight hundred and three. John Williams
