Christopher/ I am extremely sorry for your leaving my old friend David Ross Esquire in your faithfullness, & great use to him has been evidently proven to me were fit offers made to you it would be best I think for mutual benefit to return to him again. Should you not return, I would advise your getting here, rather than go to the Northward. One of my reasons is. I think you can get equal Wages here. Your Sobriety & [industry?] hitherto is so well known tis [needlesss?] to mention that youve been remarkably so, [since?] your stay with me these last two Weeks. Wishing you success & happiness. I am your friend &c. P Jon'a. Eilbeck Norfolk 10th June 1799 Mr. Christopher McPherson Present
