The undersigned have been acquainted with Thomas Brewster the within named petitioner for many years - believe him to be a man of much integrity; of good demeanor: and (for a man of his colour) of great respectability - we beg leave to state it as our opinion that should the Hon'ble the Legislature grant his request that he will continue to conduct himself as becomes a good citizen. I have no knowledge of the facts stated in the petition of Thomas Brewster, as my acquaintance with him has not been of long duration. I have known him for the last two or three years, and have always considered him a man of good behavior, and industrious habits. A B Venable Decr 2nd 1811
