City of Richmond to Wit This day the within mentioned affiant William McKinnon personally appeared before me Saml Jones a Justice of the peace for sd [said] City and made oath to the truth and correctness of the with in allegations and affidavit of him the sd McKinnon given from under my hand and seal this 4th day of December 1813 L Jones (seal)

This is to certify That in a conversation with Mr Wm J. Dunn at the Oxford Iron Works at which place we were both in the employ of Mr David Ross, he informed me that he was witness to the Will of ____ Jackson Decd of the City of Richmd. a woman of colour, where in she had devised to Richard North a house & Lott [lot] in Richmd with a shed annexed & that he had been called by said North to prove the Will, which he would have done if North had agreed to do what was requested, which was that said North should give Betsy Johnsons child another person of colour the shed part of the house and lott and buy the husband of the old woman which North had refused to do, the said Dunn also said that he was sorry he had ever put his name to the Will & that he would have whiped North but for Wm Mays Sworn under my hand this 18th Decr 1813[.] John Pearce Chesterfd County Sct the foregoing certificate was sworn to before me a Magistrate for said county in due form this 18th Decr 1813 Wm Brown
