This is to certify that in the month of December 1808, I rec'd orders from Colo George Garner (in conformity to orders he had received of the Executive of [State?]) & suspecting an insurrection of slaves & generally through the State within 30 minutes after I had recd those orders. I reported & mounted my horse and saw all my officers [aspecily?] as possible and within 6 hours had at our meeting ground in the night a sufficient quantity of men to send out three Patroles, James Robinson being a Sergeant, as also a discreet young man, I gave him a small district to Patrol, with Mr Wm Y [Leuroman?]
