To My Dear Mother Your letters of 3ard and 9th just recvd. to day they were here in Camp at my Co; But just as I was getting ready to go on the big hike wihich I wrote you about I was taken sick & was sent to the Base Hospital & a Fellow brought your welcome letters to Day I have been here over 2 weeks but I am feeling much better now & the Doctor says I will go out in a few Days so do not worry about me Mama. The Base Hospital is on a high & dry place in a big woods a very nice plase and I have been sleeping on a good Bed something I have not slept on sinse over
