France Feb. 23, 1918 My dear Girl. Here I am back in front of my log fire again. It is just one week since I mailed my last letter to you & I was then in another part of the country. My companion & I got back to headquarters this morning & found orders that will take us for a few days up towards the front. We've had some interesting experiences, & I think we know French Rys. , hotels & restaurants pretty well by this time. I had to do all of the parleying, as my friend will persist in calling bread "paine" and hence no one can understand.
