Just a line to let you know that I'm still going & that no French [illegible] has run off with me.
One of our Lts. expects to leave for home in about a week as he has been classified as unfit for duty. This will leave me only three and one of them has just left for a visit of two weeks in England. I've just taken over the job as Mechanical Engineer and shall be pretty busy for the next few days.
Dr. Pickrell has just come by to inform me that Mde L'echat, the old lady with whom I lived while waiting for Mde Cloche, had a stroke of apoplexy this morning. Her family is now with her. The doctor has to look up another room, so I took him out to the house this evening to see
