AMERICAN Y.M.C.A. On active service with the american expeditionary force 28 May 1919. My Dear Girl Your letter of the 11th reached me on the 26th. It was mighty sweet of you to offer to go to N.Y. to meet me. One cannot know, however, when he will land. Orders are frequently wired the vessels in mid-ocean what port to make for. Wherever you happen to be that place will be my home port. New York means absolutely nothing to me as long as you are elsewhere and if I land there I shall take the first & fastest transportation to you. I wonder if you can realize how I long to be with you.
