My dear Madam: You are hereby notified that you are not entitled to compensation under the Act of Congress of October 6, 1917. The Amendment to this Act provides for compensation to dependent parents of deceased soldiers and as your statements show that you are not dependent, you are consequently not entitled to the benefits of the Act at this time. If your financial condition should change in the future, an application for compensation may be filed. All future correspondence relative to this case should bear the full name, rank and organization of the deceased, as well as the number C-21196. Very truly yours, H.C.
