Inquisition of Murder Patrick County to wit Inquisition [inducted?] taken at or near Martin Clouds in the county aforesaid the 9th day of Sepember 1834 before me Harden H Moore one of the acting Justices of the peace in and for the county aforesaid upon the view of the body of Tamar a negro woman and Cintha a negro child the propy [property] of the said Martin Cloud then and there lying dead and upon the oaths of William East Thomas Whillock James Richardson John Foster Anderson Fowlkes Dudley M Millan Nathaniel M Mellion John Easton James Smith John Boyd James Puckette & Nehemiah Daniel good and lawful men of this county who being sworn and charged to inquire on the part of the commonwealth when how where and after what manner the said Tamar and Sintha came to their death upon their oath do say that the said Tamar not having god before her eyes but being deceived by the instigation of the devil, at the county aforesaid then and there being alone with her child aforesaid, in one common creek called Johnsons creek herself volunterily and felloniously drowned herself and child Cintha, the jurors upon their oath aforesaid say that the aforesaid negro woman in the manner and form aforesaid herself and child aforesaid then and there herself and child voluntarily and felloniously as a fellon of herself and child murdered against the peace and dignity of commonwealth Wm East [Seal] Thos Whillock [Seal] James Richardson X his mark [Seal] John Foster [Seal] Anderson Fowlkes [Seal] Dudley Mc Millian [Seal] John Eaton [Seal] James Smith [Seal] Nathaniel Mc Millan [Seal] John Boyd [Seal] James Pucket [Seal] Nehemiah Daniel [Seal]
