Accomack County Sct Know all by these presents that I Ezekiel Tathum of the County aforesaid for and in consideration of divers good causes me thereunto moving but more particularly for the sake of doing Justice to humanity, I have manumitted & set free & by these presents do manumit liberate & set free from Slavery my Negro Woman Matthew, And I do for myself my heirs Executors & Administrators hereby release & discharge my aforesaid Negro Woman Matthew from any further obligation of service to me or my heirs forever & declare by these persons that She hereafter be and is a free Woman agreeable to the Law in this case made & provided In testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal this 30th day July Anno Dom. 1790[.] Ezekiel Tathum (Seal) Signed Sealed & delivered In presence of } John Trackle[,] Delight James
