Know all men by these presents that I Henry Custis Bayside for and in consideration of the faithful performance of a certain negro man named Babel & for many other considerations me thereunto moving do by these presents manumit and forever set free from Bondage my sd. [said] negro man Babel; & for his identity do annex as a second name to his first name the name of Babel Magers and do by these presents against myself & my heirs declare the said negro man to be free from this time given under my hand and seal this 28 Dec. 1791.
