To all whom these presents shall come know ye that I William Elliott of the County of Accomack and State of Virginia for divers good causes and considerations to me appearing and more especial[l]y for the services rendered me by my Slave by the Name of Esther do by these presents for myself my heirs Exs. & Adms. forever set free and clear from Slavery and bondage the afd [aforesaid] negro woman Named Esther and I do hereby release all claim and demand I have to the said Negro woman five years after the date assignd[.] In Testimony whereof I the said William Elliott have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this fifteenth day of June Anno Domini 1798.
