Know all men by these presents that I Abel West of the County of Accomack have liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do liberate manumit and set free a certain negroe man slave called Adam purchased by me out of the estate of Captain John West (son of Anthony) and I do hereby release the said Adam from all claim or claims of service to me, my heirs Executors & Administrators, hereby conveying and confirming to the said negroe Adam all the rights privileges and enjoyments of a free man that I can legally do.
