Dear Helen and papa, Received your letter today and sure was glad to hear from you. Glad to hear that all at home is O.K. I am alright I just got over a very bad cold. How is Lawrence getting along. I haven't heard from him in a long time. I got a letter from Mrs. O.M. Brendle tell her hello for me, and that I will try and write her some time this week. Tell papa I hope to be home by Xmas. or just right after. Do you all get very much gas.? I bet food and stuff like that are really hard to get. We get fead pretty good. Sure was sorry to hear that Billy quit school. and went to Newport News to work. I sure wish I hadn't quit. Tell paulette he had better not quit. and I wish you would try and make Billy come home and go back to school. and also tell him he had better help papa around the house, because papa does enough
