Tennesse Dec 18, 1943

Dear Papa an Hellen, I receive your letter yesterday and was glad to hear from you all glad that all is well Papa we sure are having a bad time out here in th cold raining and freezing but still we are out in it just the same, Papa I talked to the Captain about you all coming down to see me he said couldn't anyone see me for they wasant aloud to see me as long as we were on maneuvers well that makes me feel bad for I wanted to see you all. Hellen we have four hundred dollars for a big Christmas dinner
