Sun. 14 1944 Dear Papa Hellen I will sot down and try to write you a few lines to let you know how I am getting along. I am getting along just fine, and glad to hear that you are well to, Hellen we go out in the field for 5 days boy I sure hate that to sleeping on the ground but I dont mind it I will do any thing to get this war over so we can come back to our good homes for I know our mothers and Fathers would like to see all their boys coming back safe. well I dont mind it for I am ust to it now well dont worry about me next week if you dont get any more letters for I know we wont get the
