Stafford Corte Aprill 12: 1699 May it Please yor Excellency

Wee his Majtes Justices hereto subscribing have the honnr of yor Excellency Commands to us Directed under yor Lesser seale att armes Dated the 28 of March Last, and in obedience thereunto have in the ffirst place maid them publique, and pursuant thereunto have this day pitched uppon two substantiall psons Inhabitance of this County; to Witt Mr Giles Vandicastille and Mr Burr: Harrisson to goe to the Indeans (Called) Emperr of Passattaway to deliver to him and such as are vorgarly Called his greate men, yor Excellency Comands; wee hope and believe they are men of that Carrecter yor Excellency was pleased to advise and Comand, and in order to theire full directtion we have Delivered them a Coppie of yor Excellency precept to us: which is A Direction nott onely suffictientt butt Infinitly beyond whatt we can give, theire Dispatch is given and we hope theire retourne will be speedy which as soone as (soone) as Comes to us shall be Dutifully Dispatched to youre Excellency

as to ye pay Due to ye Raingers and theire officers we find to be thirteene mounth in arerage; and humble referr yor Excellency to the Comanders and soldiers or Raingers respectively signeing according to yor Excellencyes directions and Comands; as to thatt part Comunicable to the Inhabitants aboutt theire Apprehentions of the Indeans and thire proposition for theire securityes Is heareby presented to yor Excellency Inclosed under theire hands; who are in all obedience
