The Commonwealth Virginia to the Sheriff of Pittsylvania County, Greeting; WE command you to summon Coleman Simpson, Richard Whitehead Jr and Wm Roach to appear before our Judge of our Circuit Superior Court of Pittsylvania, at the Court-house thereof, on the present day of October Term, to testify and the truth to speak in behalf of Isaac Brumfield in a certain matter of controversy in our said court now depending and undetermined between Henry Carter plaintiff, and said Brumfield defendant. And this they shall in no wise omit under the penalty of £100. And have there this writ. Witness, William H. Tunstall, Clerk of our said Court, at the Court-house, this 24th day of October 1843 in the 68 year of the Commonwealth. Wm. H. Tunstall
