(Recognizance of witness in felony.) City of Richmond, To-Wit: Be it Remembered, That on the 10th day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-4 William N. Kelley personally came before me Joseph Mayo Mayor of the said City, in said City and acknowledged himself to owe to the Commonwealth of Virginia; in the sum of three hundred, dollars, of good and lawful money of the Confederate States of America, to be made and levied of his goods and chattels, lands and tenements to the use of the said Commonwealth.

The Condition of this Recognizance is such, that if the above bound Wm N. Kelly shall personally appear before the Justices of the City of Richmond aforesaid, on the 14th day of March, eighteen hundred and sixty-4, at a Court by them to be holden, in and for said City, in the City Hall of said City, in said City, for the trial of Lucy Tonget & Anna Tonget (Free) charged with felony and do then and there, in behalf of said Commonwealth, give such evidence as he knoweth, concerning the said offence, with which the said Lucy Tonget & Anna Tonget stands charged, and do not depart without leave of said Court, then this recognizance to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Taken and acknowledged before me, in said City, and within the jurisdiction aforesaid, the day and year first above written. Jos. Mayo Mayor.
