[perpendicular as label on folded document] Baily N. Johnson Affidavit Fy-10

For several years previous to the death of Turner Dixon, Esqr, of the County of Fauquier I was his intimate friend and a frequent visitor of his house. Since then I have known all his children particularly the adults; have lived very near the estate, and make no doubt but that a division of the Dower among them would render the interests of all the children more valuable and that it is highly desirable to them on that account. Of the character of the afflication under which the surviving Parent Mrs. Maria Dixon suffers, I can say that from personal observation and the remarks of physicians that there can exist no hope that she will recover. [signed] J Marshall Jr Fauquier County To Wit John Marshall Junior Personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace for the County aforesaid on this 15th day of November 1832 and made oath to the truth of the above statement.
